Charities and Risk Management (CC26) – What is disaster recovery planning?
ACEVO, 1 New Oxford Street, London, WC1A 1NU — 1st April 2011
As a part of an effective risk management process, a charity should consider what needs to be done if a serious event does take place. Part of this is looking at Trustees’ responsibilities for what they themselves have done or, in some cases, omitted to do with particular relevance to Continuity Planning; specifically looking at “the liability of a charity or its trustees for those actions or omissions of those of other people acting in the course of the charity’s pursuit of its aims where those actions:
- are a breach of the obligations imposed by operation of civil (rather than criminal) law upon persons generally; and
- cause damage to the interests of others; and
- give rise to a claim for compensation through the civil courts.”
As to who should attend, the workshop is aimed at CEOs, COOs and senior Trustees.
